I offer from time to time real estate tips on the deals I have done in the hopes that it will help someone move from the couch to the deal table. Today I would like to do something different..Today I want to tell you how I found the great partner I have in my company.
Several months ago I went to the Santa Maria rei supported by Dana and his wife. At the meeting I talked about a deal I was closing and who I was and what I wanted to do in RE. Roberta Eastman was there with her husband Frank. Roberta and I talked for a few minutes and discovered that we had some of the same goals in mind. You see Roberta is a Business Management Medic & Marketer who wanted to learn the real estate field for her business. It was a match...We set a lunch meeting and the rest is history.. I told her that my big goal for the year was working with people to help them get their first deal done. I also stated that I wanted to enter the send me away contest at the end of the year.. This was Oct and I needed to get the video done by the 20th of Dec. We sat down and she showed me how to plan out a path (braindumped) then how to put that into several areas of action. She also did this with my business which PEOPLE, it has taken 5-7 years off my learning curve!!!! Back to the video...We layed it out as to what it needed to say and I told her that it will change once i start talking..
Shot the video in one take and I made it all the way to the end before emotion hit me about my kid and I had to stop. We sent it off to get it edited and the company that she knew did a great job of taking that out and cleaning the flow up... Video done and off my list.
We started marketing the company as well as me and things started happening. Dean's group called about doing more video's for the IE... I sent tons of people to the website to watch the videos and I got a call on that as well.
We went to several real estate expo's and added 136 people to our list of people for our ten secerts to a tycoon investor (marketing). Then our club membership base jumped when we moved downtown to the embassy suites hotel. Every step my partner has taken with me has been about me and not making money for her...She has helped me grow in so many ways I can't even start to tell you how... I now know in my mind that I was left here to help people and to have been lucky enough to have met Roberta to guide me through this process.
I write this to help you all think about the use of a partner or mentor in your business. I have both in mine.... Look at people around you and see if you want to be like any of them..If so why? what makes you like them that way? Hang out with them so you can see them on a bad day and how they handle them! Whatever I do going forward it will be because of her and the help she has given me. NOW GO GET SOME...

Not having a goal is worse than not setting one..
