Reading a post and seeing miracle2b (Janet) reply about forming an LLC I took her advice and went to the IRS. The more I read, the bigger the question became and the more it begged to be answered. If the federal government i.e. the IRS treats a single member LLC as a disregarded entity and as such is a sole proprietorship for taxes, then wouldn't you lose your protection from a lawsuit depending upon how you filed your LLC? What is the correct method for filing for an LLC?
