I've been sitting on my duff for too long. I'm getting started on my New Year's resolution now. Thanks for the idea Dean!
I enrolled in the Success Academy at the end of May (2011) and learned a lot of information and ended up with a great coach. (shout-out to Matt )
But very little action was taken on my part.
I have called landlords and gotten mostly sellers, although I admit it was a half-hearted attempt.
In August I purchased the Rock Bottom Blueprint and learned even more info and tons of great ideas courtesy of the 30 Days Quick Cash Formula Forum. Called a few re agents and got frustrated with how clueless some appear to be.
...and sat around some more.
In October I found out that my county released the names of buyers from this year's tax auction.
Converted the .pdf into a spreadsheet and then into a database. Found all the buyers & company names, their mailing addresses and what they purchased. Ran a query on the database records for those that bought a single family residence and spent $10,000 or more. After tweaking & filtering the list some more I ended up doing a mail merge with the end result of 24 letters printed out. I included a scan of my business card at the bottom of the letters and taped a real one over it. (Thanks to Al Waterloo for that idea)
Hand-wrote the addresses on the envelopes and sent them out today (11/29)
My New Year's Resolution: 2 deals per month in '12 for a minimum total of 24 for the year.
It may seem weird but that number sounds small to me. We'll see where I am at a year from now.
There's two quotes from The Matrix that I'd like to paraphrase here...
Don't THINK you are an investor, KNOW you are.
I'm trying to free your mind, but I can only show you the door; you're the one that has to walk through it.
'til next time.
