I received my cash buyer's list from my Real Estate agent. I went to the county tax assessor's web site and looked up the names and addresses of the people who were listed as responsible for the taxes. In more than 50% of the cases, the address of the owner was the same as the property listing. In other words, the cash buyer bought the property and is now living in the property. At least, that is what I assumed to be the case.
I find it a little bit hard to believe that so many people paid cash for a home that they now live in. Some of these homes are more than $100M. In fact, I know one person on my list. He is a fairly new engineer. It is hard for me to believe that he paid more than $100M cash for a house.
