I found that the Yahoo Real Estate site was pretty good at giving me an estimated value on the properties I found on the 4closure alert web site.
It is only a general value given the area and past stats, but the site also tells you what the house last sold for and when and the tax value.
I will not hold too much stock in the values given but I find it helpful to get at least an idea given that many of the forclosures listed do not give a value.
One thing I am confused about is that one of the homes I found in the forclosures was listed 2001 but according to Yahoo it had last sold in 2005! Are these forclosures up to date?
I was pleased to see that the home actually sold for about $100k less than the price asked in the forclosure listing.
