I am new to this but I am a firm believer in cycles. Looking at today's headlines and what is going on in the world today, does anyone out there believe we are going into what Dean calls the rare 5th cycle?

Whether or not we are going into a rare 5th cycle is debatable and pretty hard to make a broad generalization. But there are numerous local pockets of the country that have fallen on hard times economically (for example, the US auto industry fallout) that has created an increase in houses listed for sale on the market and a significant upswing in foreclosures. These areas are in down markets, major factors that create money making opportunities for savvy investors with the right strategies and time horizons. Is it cataclysmic? Not sure. But it seems like a significant opportunity.
