Receptacles that are older and have been heavily used may have loose slots that won’t hold plugs tightly. Plugs that tend to move or fall out of the receptacles are dangerous because of the poor connection and overheating that can result. They are also dangerous because live parts of the plug blades may be exposed if the plug is not tight in the outlet.
