Question From Arkansas

Question From Arkansas

I am in the central Arkansas area and just finished the book. I am eagerly ready to take the next step, but it seems there are about 100 steps that could be my next step. By reading the book, I feel like I have been fed an enormous amount of information and I am not sure where to go from here. I have set a very small goal for myself to pay off a $5000 debt that I have before the end of 2009. Im taking baby steps until I get my legs beneath me...then its off to the races. LOL While reading, I have found that the IEE method seems very interesting to me. Any advice as to what to do next? My toes are pointed at the water, but they are not yet wet!

baby steps.......

Yes there sure are many many steps involved in all this, especially if REI is brand new to a person's mind and way of thinking. There are many directions and paths for all of us to use to accomplish goals with REI. The big thing is to look at your own situation, what can you do from where you are right now? That way you know where to start. Use goal setting as a means to move forward. Be flexible but keep moving. It will take alot of work to get up to speed, like Dean says, hundred dollar bills wont pop out of the book just because we open it. Search around, talk to people, pay attention to local business news. Get on the phone, talk some more. Visit property, make a plan, see if the numbers would work (so you know what a good deal looks like) - all this is preparation. I have a saying that I think personally runs true - "failure to prepare is preparing to fail". So practice, learn all you can while you are paying off debts, set it all up and learn along the way! Then after the first of the year you will be very well versed in what is going on in your area, with what is available to you, practice using vision to see potential in property, go back to all your networking you have done over several months. Then from where you are, make a plan of attack and set it in motion!

The rest will follow!

Good luck,

Jeff

thanks...

I appreciate the input. It would be nice if REI could assist with paying of the $5000 debt. If not, the time spent researching and learning will only make me sound like I know what I am talking about when I do speak to sellers and/or buyers. Smiling
