I am considering getting licensed and becoming a real estate agent. I am currently getting started in REI and I figured it might be a good idea. I am already searching the market for the best deals as it is, and I am much more aware of the market conditions and current good deals then the agents that I currently work with. I just figure it would be an extra source of income along with REI and I also feel I could really help prospective buyers a ton.
-Do you think I should do it?
-Are there any reasons that it would be a bad idea?
Thanks

I appreciate the great feedback. I already have relationship with some of the top brokers in my area, and I think finding a good place to hang my license will not be too difficult. I know one broker who has his own brokerage and deals with investors (And invests/flips himself) a lot. I am thinking that would be my best option as far as finding a place to start.
I understand some of the drawbacks, but I think I am going to do it anyway. I like the idea of it being an extra source of income, a way to control my deals, and I think I would really enjoy working with buyers and helping them get the best deal possible.
