I know several people who are doing just that (for the timebeing) since the rates are so low... but this is with a ARM loan, not a 30 yr fixed, so this is not a long term plan for them, and I can see them seriously considering selling once the maintenance issues with the rental property start coming up, and tenants calling at odd times complaining about issues... I think it's only a matter of time before homeowners start putting their rental properties on the market...
