OfflineHi, this may seem like a bad question, but I have to ask it anyway. I have just started reading dean's book be a real-estate millionaire, and one of the first things that come to mind is closing deals. I have never bought property in my life, but I wanted to know if/and when a person goes and closes a deal is this ever done on the weekend? I ask this because of a job I am considering taking that is Mon-Fri 9-5. I am new to this and just started reading the local and national factors in his book. Thanks for your help

Randy, thanks for your advice. I'm a novice as you can see, and in Dean's book he talks about keeping your day job. I am just getting started and want to know if it's possible for me to start real estate investing in the evenings and weekends? Of course I think about having to act quickly in a moment's notice. I still have to learn a lot as Dean says before doing anything. This was just the first thing that came to mind. Thank you again Randy.
I am an insurance agent and have all my licenses and can step back into the business anytime I desire. I wouldn't want to get into a situation where I am always having to leave during the day. I'm looking at the buy-sell and flip strategy if and when that is ever right in my market. I don't have a lot of money to invest, but have great credit. Of course, flip is the first thing that comes to mind.
Don't worry about signing the closing papers. Most escrow agents will make arraingements with you to fit your schedule. They will even meet you on your lunch hour or send the paperwork to you to sign and return. You CAN do this part time, and keep your day job.

I think that it is very common for title companies to schedule signings around people's work schedules. If you're buying a property with conventional financing, you're probably working full-time! Lunch time would be an obvious choice for a more convenient time to sign. They can also have you sign in whatever city you're in, at a local title company there, and then just overnight the documents wherever they need to go. Don't sweat the small stuff! Go for the new job AND the REI career!!
