Keeping Deposits Separate May Be Imperative

Keeping Deposits Separate May Be Imperative

Several years ago, I was renting a home and after 1 year I decided I was paying too much and decided to move. When I requested my deposit back from the owner, he refused. Ultimately I had to go to court to get the money back. The notable thing that I wanted to share is the argument my attorney used to win the case. Everyone needs to consider this issue and do their own Do Diligence. My attorney stated that the deposit money must be kept separate and NOT co-mingled with other moneys according to the state of Florida. Co-mingling can cause some real problems and everyone should check out the laws of their own state. This may or may not be an issue for everyone, but you should check it out with your attorneys.
