I actually sent a PM to the author of this post. Please forgive me for not asking. I am not used to the posting yet, and all the previous posts I have done already had replies so I thought I was just replying instead of the PM. Sorry about that!
I mentioned I purchased the EDGE 2011 video series when Dean offered it. One of the potentially overlooked but great resources it included was a free report titled "Find Funding Right Now". Most states have a HUD or local housing office that can usually provide information about purchasing homes or property in the local area. I gave the name of the state agency listed in the report for this gentleman's area.
Another great resource is USAA. I don't remember what that stands for but my husand is a vet too. This organization is awesome, and is totally devoted to veterans and veterans affairs. They have all kinds online information at www.USAA.com, as well as fantastic customer service if you have any questions. One of the things they deal with, among many, is housing for veterans. I am sure they can let you know if your VA certificate would be an option to purchase property or homes. Finally, thank you so much for your service to this country. We all owe a debt of thanks to those who pay a sacrificial price in their lives to serve, so our freedoms can be maintained and enjoyed. Thank you so much for your service.
