Looking for Non-US based Real Estate Investors

Hi Everyone,
I am new to real estate investing having just bought Dean's Be A Real Estate Millionaire and signing up for the Success Academy. I am very excited about getting started. My challenge though is that I am not living in the United States (will be migrating there in the next few years). But I wanted to get a jumpstart with real estate for when I move there.

Can anyone offer advise on the best ways to get started from outside of the US? I am also looking to network with other non-US based RE investors.

For starters I'll like to do assignment deals until I build up some $$$ to invest in other types of deals.

What Country?

What country are you in right now? That would be helpful to know to give you specific details as the procedures may or may not differ on some levels.
