Local Market

Local Market

I have a question that I hope someone can help me out with. I live in a small town in Indiana, about 25 minutes from the south side of Indianapolis. When I read Dean's books he says to start in your local market. Now with my local market being a small town should I try to add Indianapolis into my market or is that doing to much to fast?

small town

Hi Flash,
I live in a small town also, and am really just getting started. I started by creating an area around my town which includes several of the surrounding towns. Once I defined that, I found a real estate agent the worked those areas and gave her my criteria for the type of properties I am looking for. As soon as the listings started coming in, I found there were so many, that I could not handle them all and had to shrink down my original target area. Try to find where the deals are near you and start there.
Best of luck

Hi As Kevin said start out close to home, you might be surprised of whats there and work out from there.A good agent is priceless.Look for those FSBO ( motivated sellers). That little town may surprise you, just keep making those steps foreward and dont stop, much success, Jim
