What is a reverse MLS search?

What is a reverse MLS search?

Anyone know what this is or how to do it? I've heard this is a great way to find cash buyers for your wholesale buyers list...???

sbrooks6 you might be

sbrooks6 you might be thinking about using the MLS to find sold properties taht were bought for CASH. Any realtor with access to the MLS can go into their MLS system and do a search (reverse) for sold properties that were bought for CASH within the last 9 months or so. They could run a report and get that information to you. You can then look to see who is listed as the owner of that property and see if you can try contacting them via mail or if you can find a phone number via phone. Obviously, if the proeprty is listed as having been sold again since then the current owner might be the investors buyer instead of the investor themselves, so you might need to check a few things to make sure you are contacting the right party. In most cases, the person listed or company listed will have multiple properties listed in the courthouse records under their name, so this is usually a good indicator that you found an investor.

Finding out who owns a home

I found a home that is vacant and has a sticker on the door saying, "Found Vacant" contact mortgage ocompany if not vacant. How do I go about finding the information about the home and who owns it?

Finding out who owns a home

I would start with calling mortgage co number. Ask to speak w/the foreclosure/loss medigation dept., they would know if the home has gone thru foreclosure and lastly go to the county recorders office. Explain what your looking for and people are generally helpful and will try to direct you correctly to the right dept. but be ready to be transferred here and there in this search. Also, depending on where you live that information can be found online..city, state, county recorders office. If not then you want to drive to the county recorders and get the info that way. I always call prior to taking a drive...hope that helps.
