I think it is important to remember that people move for all types of reasons; warmer weather, better employment opportunity, cheaper housing prices, beautiful scenery, getting closer to family, cheaper area to retire and a multitude of other reasons. But the opportunities for investing in real estate exist everywhere and it is usually much easier to focus in your own neighbor, especially when first starting out. Experience the ins and outs of investing closer to home where you can keep an eye on things and then expanded as you build relationships with trusted individuals in new areas. It makes a big difference to have boots on the ground…
I live in NJ. I know there are plenty of money reasons to leave NJ, but much of North Eastern NJ is a bedroom community for NYC workers. Properties priced right go quickly, often with bidders driving up the price.
