Day 79

Well today started off with a whimper. My first appointment was delayed until Thur. My second appointment was delayed because I couldn't reach them on the phone. My 3rd appointment was with a fellow Northerner turned Floridian so we had a lot to talk about besides RE. I believe we hit it off which is good because I don't think he was going to like the price I would have to offer.
Having said that, I kinda could anticipate his mindset by doing just what Dean taught in a recent blog, I LISTENED! His motivation for selling is real and understandable. What he expects from the sale was not realistic which was why I tried to steer him towards keeping the property and finding a better solution to managing it (his biggest problem). Just throwing out some suggestions seemed to change his mindset from one of frustration to one of possibility. I could sympathize with this man because he is going through some of the same medical issues with his family as I went through with mine. I believed that making a lowball offer on his house wouldn't be honorable or appropriate long before we finished our conversation and the end of our conversation confirmed that. He just wants too much money for the property because he has too much invested in the property. More sweat than cash and he made it clear that he believes his sweat has value. He doesn't have to sell and since he owns it free & clear, he can afford not to sell. But his mind is fascilating between staying in FL or moving out of state. He really isn't a good candidate until he makes up his mind. I'm hoping that our conversation today puts me at the top of his list to call when he makes up his mind.
I did however, find another area to drive for $$ on my way to the appointment. I went back to it and found some houses that were abandoned and one with a sticker and a lockbox. Shadow gold??? I will be calling them tomorrow.

listened to Greg's video
checked my bookmarks for new posts
doin my dailies and calling it a night.
I'm exhausted but feel a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction in the way I handled my appointment today. I used positive ideas to help a man in a negative situation/ mindset. I have fulfilled my daily dose of helping someone today.
