Blog # 1 ~ New to investing

Hello DG members; I have decided to start a blog and hope for the best from the DG team and website. I am very new to investing in real estate and have a number of concerns, yet I feel hopeful at the same time. In the past I used to work as a loan officer, being hosed with various brokers over the years. I currently hold a California DRE sales License and although I am not really using it at the moment, I am active and with a broker in Southern Califirnia. I have worked in customer service at a number of storage companies and truck rental companies, such as Penske and Ryder over the yearsand I do hope one day to own a storage facility.

I have read a number of blogs on this website and feel that this is the place for me to find some encouragement and validation from people. I have no job at this time and am living on my savings. Life is not what I expected it would have been. I thought by now I would have been married with children, a great career and a nice nest egg. Reality is I am single, living with family, no current income and no love life. I could go on about the SOB story of my life and how everything got messed up, but lets face it, we all have some story to share. Bottom line is I need a new way. The 9-5 job has not been so prosperous, and I am losing ground as a 44 year old man. It is time to BURN THE BOATS and charge forward to victory!

Since Monday 7-18-2011, I have stepped out of my depression and made some progress. I Had to take my father to the doctor and managed to listen to the 15 secrets to success, tuesday I started the fast start form from Dean and listened to audio one, then managed to make some network connections via facebook. Wednesday, I made a new connection and spoke on the phone to a fellow investor. She has been the first person in a long list that has not been a dream killer, naysayer, or wet blanket. I am happy we connected and she seems very willing to help. This afternoon I spent some time getting my papers and desk organized and feel that tomorrow will be a productive day.
