Where did you look for the banks? yellow pages, etc?
What type of bank ended up providing the re-fi? small town, community type bank?

googled our area (utah) for banks & credit unions), crossed out all the big ones right off, and just started calling all the smaller, local ones. Ask for the residential mortgage dept. and sometimes need to move on to the commercial loan dept. The credit union we are working with is actually a "new" one that just merged from two former local credit unions in our area.
