A New Chapter

My name is Wendy Olson and I am a wife and mother of three boys. They are 14, 13 and 9. Each one of them has their own special needs. My oldest has Aspergers (a kind of Autism), my middle son has Autism and does not talk and my youngest has learning and hearing issues.

I enrolled my oldest in Boy Scouts of America 8 years ago to help him with his social skills and help him learn how to make friends. Now, the oldest is in scouts and the youngest in Cub scouts. I am on two committees and have four committee positions.

I lost my job three years ago and my husband has holes in his spine, so he has not worked in 10 years.

My parents have always supported whatever I have done, and my husband is a "proof is in the pudding" kind of guy. We do not have any jingle in the pocket yet, so he should have been named "Thomas".

I can understand where Carol Stinson is coming from. I have little time for me, let alone to do something like this. However, having said that, I have come to the conclusion that I need a proactive approach to my family's future. My husband is 51 and we have NOTHING to head into retirement with. One of our kids will need a lifetime of care and there is only so much his brothers can do for him.

I have to make this work. It is the light at the end of a very long tunnel. We live in a house that is almost ours, but it is in the second worse neighborhood in town. There is a dope dealer across the street and a meth dealer three doors down. The kids are not allowed outside, epecially after dark.

I have more hope than I have had in a long time and I am beginning to see my path. I have been told most of my life that I am worthless. It takes alot of courage to step off the cliff when you have been standing there a long time. I AM READY, I WILL DO THIS!

(Needed a tissue, I could not see the screen anymore)

I have chosen the name of my life story (Now don't any of you go and steal it!) "How I Made More Money Than Oprah!" by Me. I like that title ALOT!

Well, I have more videos to watch tonight, more things to learn, and phone calls to make. Talk to you later, DG family.

Wendy Olson

Welcome to the DG family

Wendy,

The future is bright with the support of all the people on here ad well as Deans books, videos, programs and weekly blogs. One of my children has aspergers so I can relate to the lack of time available to get things done. You can do it

Thank You

Jswjri,

Thank you for your words of encouragement! I can always use as much of it as possible.

How old is your Asperger's child? My son is 14.

I sent out my letter to several realtors, and have had one reply. I also have potential buyers to call today, so I should get at it!

Have a great day!

Wendy
