The last few weeks of 11" were pretty interesting to say the least. Right there at just about the close out of the year I decided to do something about changing the way my life has been going. Got up at the usual 3:30am or so maybe 4:00. Turned on the T.V. and there was Dean again. His motivating and informative infomercial on once again. I saw these infomercials countless, dozens of other times. Usually, watched, daydreamed a little while watching and going over what I thought was really going on in my life-or maybe, not daydreaming but hoping and wishing for some change, a chance opportunity call coming over the phone, the winning lottery # (just kidding on that one-no lottery here in Hawaii so I guess that just goes back to the "dreaming part")anyway, you see where I'm going with this. By some "chance" on one of those days I made a "decision". Ordered the program (books?)and by some small inspiration / hope? sat back and waited to see what would come out of this impulsive move I had just made.Yea, I thought, this guy Dean is a really great sales/promoter personality but is he real? When you watch all these thousands of pitches comming at you through the years, some interesting, some no doubt a hyped up pitch to get you to spend a couple of $$ on some useless article well?.... I think my saving grace was that some years back I had signed up for a "financial success" orginization. Same pitch through a late night infomercial. The Givens orginization. (hope I'm not breaking any rules here name dropping?)
Same scenario- life in the dumps, divorce, bankruptcy, house in foreclosure, living away from home and family in a state across the ocean. (WA)
Attended the seminar, listened carefully and thoughtfully, then came the big decision. A descision that required some commitmnent and taking a big chance. Sign up for the program by forking over what little money I had at that time, was I really willing to make a change? I went for it!
Tax strategies, how to budget, look for low interest credit cards, how not to get ripped off as a consumer (ex: buy slightly(gently) used autos for a huge discount because the first owner absorbed the depreciation etc) information that has profoundly changed for the positive how I handle my finances.
REAL ESTATE INVESTING was THE CORE philosophy of wealth creation of the Givens organization. However, I dropped the ball on this one (and most important) financial strategy that the organization promoted. WEALTH BUILDING BY INVESTING IN REAL ESTATE.
They were REAL. Everything else I have faithfully followed and would probably not be where I am today or to rephrase that - My life would have been much much harder without that knowledge. The Wealth building? Some day. Some day some time. They gave me the knowledge-this back in (1992) I got close a couple of times but was not utilizing the support that was available to me. Yes, 0 down, low down, OPM,etc, all the tricks of the trade. A Hotline of "coaches".
So, what shoulda been, what coulda been.....
Point is, I know that this CAN work. Yes, Dean is "THE REAL DEAL" What I think I really want sometimes is for someone else to do the work for me. Yea, that's my problem, thats what I will overcome this year.
My fortune that came to me end of last year? an incredible Christmas present! What could be better!?
1. I know this works, it's not a scam, a con, it is information that works for those willing to work it.
2.I put my money where my mouth is and made a beginning by "investing in myself" through joining the Real Estate Academy.
3.I have seen this work through personal experience by working with an investor who was self-taught- I even negotiated a deal where I left myself out of $20,000 profit but saved my "partner",that much on the deal.Thats how much he would have been willing to pay for this property and the final price that I negotiated, he and his dad were floating on a cloud.( another story I may mention later).
All this not to brag, but I guess convince myself that this works! "If" I do the work it takes! Ok, so I gotta go. Super excited about making it work this time around. Thank you Dean for wanting to share the wealth with others. I can see that by your success, the philosophy(s) that you promote are a huge part of how you got to get where you are now. A real inspiration and I can't thank you enough for putting yourself out there for others.I hope to be able to do the same someday. Someday soon.... starting with "today" I guess would be a start?
Thank you and thanks to the great group I have involved myself in. Wishing the biggest and best successes to all in this new year 2012!
P.S calling the Real Estate Academy hotline right after I sign out to sign up.
