my story

wow time flies! I haven't blogged since April. So what's been going on with me lately? Where oh where do I begin??

Some background... my mother, Elsie Delane, and sister, Deb Jones, got very excited about realestate investing after attending a seminar last fall. After being assured they would make their investment back in a month my mother bought in. Unfortunately it hasn't got so well.

My mother is 78 and often not in the best of health. She used the last of her small savings to make a down payment on this business and pays $500 a month from her $1600 social security to pay the balance. So she went from barely making ends meet on social security to going under. The financial stress has wrecked her.

Blog #3

Had a busy day yesterday. Checked voice mail and wasn't impressed but understand having gmail involved helps keep the city from tracking you down by using your phone number they find on the bandit signs.

Got a b-card from Mom so I can use that as a template to order some for myself.

Didn't get to recopy Matt's info. I have a LOT of work to do in that area to get things in some kind of organized and logical manner. The information is out there but not in any manner for me to readily put my finger on it when I need it.

Didn't blog yesterday. Too busy. Read a little of the book but was too tired to comprehend it so I have to go back and re-read it.

Blog #2

Ok, so yesterday I was wondering how to set a goal for a year backwards when I don't know what I'll be doing next week. I still don't know.

That said, I continue to press on. I am pleased by what I have read tonight in the book. Dean was cool enough to lay out the motivation and inspirational stuff up front then fess up to it... with good reason.

What I read tonight is how to go about finding a real estate agent. Matt Larson lays it out very nicely. I expect to get some agents who won't be so kind. They just wrong mental attitude for me to work with. The key is to find the right agent or agents.

Three action items:
1. Order business cards
2. Get a dedicated phone and voicemail
3. Rewrite Matt's script and practice it

First blog and just a bit nervous

This is my first blog and to be honest, I was a little bit nervous about writing one. Then I thought, hey, write what I know and it should be easy... and short. haha!
