For what it is worth, my

For what it is worth, my family lived six years with power lines just behind our back yard in the desert of Victorville. We could hold a florescent tube in our hand (especially at night)and watch it glow from the power in the air of the power lines.
Our daughters were about three and one years old when we first moved there. They are college age now, and all of us are still very healthy, though we do glow in the dark. Not really.

Pastor Greg,

That is fascinating!! (the fluorescent tube thing)
I haven't done any research on the subject really, but I know there was a HUGE uproar and campaign against a high voltage power line goin to be run through our county. I saw somewhere a warning about heavy equipment/machinery being run to close to these power lines. I should learn more about this. All I know is they are DOGGONE UGLY! If nothing else, I would think THAT alone would lessen the value of a home it ran past.

Power lines

Actually the power lines were a selling point in our minds, not communicated by the seller at all. Our back yard butted up against a strip of desert that the lines ran through. We knew no one would ever build or live behind us, and we had access to the desert through a gate in our backyard. We loved going exploring, walking, seeing the wildlife, and didn't mind what the power lines looked like. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" remember.
