I just had a meeting with our city's Community Development Director and he took a phone call while I was sitting right there. I overheard him talking about this piece of city property that sits in a prime position in old Bisbee and they have not been able to sell it at Auction even though it was a really good price. This has to be a good omen that I feel I need to act on, and SOON.
The City Manager has now made the Community Development Director drop the price even lower and auction it off again. The Community Dev. Director, John Charley, was saying that he was not happy about how low they have dropped the price. He would have waited for the market to go up, but the City Manager wants it sold!
I then asked Mr Charley about it and he tells me that this is a parcel of land that he said can be subdivided into 3 or 4 lots and homes in Bisbee rarely sell for under 250k. They are asking minimum of 250k at auction for the entire parcel, with great views.
Naturally I don't have the money to bid on it, but is there another way to get around this? Where would I find someone who would pay a finders fee? Could I talk to the City Manager about other means of acquiring this parcel?
I have phoned a RE agent that Mr Charley recommended for me to use in my new-found career as a REI. He was out but will be calling me back soon. I will ask him if there is another way around this.
Mr Charley was a great help and YES, this area is about to develop with the opening of the copper mine in the near future and they are wanting housing developments to take off as many developers have gone broke and fled of late!
I asked lots of questions of Mr Charley and he was a great source of information for me. I am on the road!
What are you thoughts on this? I am so wanting to do something but feel my hands are tied right now while I am still learning.
Don't worry, I am not passing this off for someone else to give me all the answers. I will be looking to think of a creative way around this, and talking with this RE agent, but I would love some help and advice from the experts??????

I'm no expert like these superstars here. But did you see Dean's video the other day? It was a very similar situation. He found a partner to put the money down to get the ball rolling and talked to the neighbors to make up his portion. Is this around any homes? Are there any neighbors around? Do you know of anyone who has money sitting in the bank that they'd like to invest? If you really want this deal bad enough exhaust every avenue to make it happen girl, like hard money lenders, investors, family members as partners, etc...
Best of luck to you,
