Hey guys I just wanted to ask if anyone can help me get around the way to lease/option a deal in Texas. I understand that in Texas you may only lease option up to six months, so I wanted to know what the tricks are to get around it. If anyone can give some advice it would be much appreciated. Thanks

I've studied a lot a about real estate law and contracts in Texas, and I'm not aware of any law that specifies that you can only lease with an option to buy for 6 months. It seems to me that whatever you and the seller/owner agree to would be fine. I've heard of lease agreements (with an option to buy) being up to two years long, but one year lease agreements are most common.

The six month limit in TX is totally false. But TX is difficult to do L/Os in and they must be done exactly right.
The expert in TX is in Ft Worth. His name is John Jackson. He has been doing them very successfully for the last nine years. His biz is called Leasing To Buy and he does do training.
