I recently moved to Fl. I hold a real estate license in VA. I would like to know if there is a conflict of interest reguarding the techniques that Dean suggests. I want my license to remain in good standing in Va. I originally was going to get my FL license, however after reading Deans book I do not feel I will need it. I just do not want to jepordize my good standings in VA. After all agents who hold a license are expected to know better. Please advise...
Thanks

I think the answer to your question depends if you are deactivating your VA license, putting it on hold or keeping it active through your broker. Once that answer is known, then you can determine the conflicts you must be aware of (if any) by your actions taken in VA regarding your license. I'm sure that most of the issues will revolve around disclosures with sellers and/or buyers as an investor as it reflects upon your status in VA and/or FL as a license holder. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I know the basic do's and don'ts. My license is not active currently and I plan on putting it in referal status.....currently I do not plan on getting a FL license. Do I still have to disclose my VA status?
I say if your license were active, you may or may not need to disclose that to the people you see, to let them know you are only representing yourself, and you are not representing buyers or sellers. Where you say it's not active, I wouldn't worry about it.
Thanks a bunch. I agree its all about disclosure! I think I will contact a real estate attorney just to be safe, I would not want and additionally liablity on my shoulders!
I love this site!
