OfflineI did my due diligence on an abandoned property. building dept, county clerks office,department of finance which was the last resort. I asked the clerk who was paying the taxes on the property it turns out that the owner is still paying the taxes on the home. I asked how can contact this person to make an offer on the property. He didn't know. With no more questions to ask i start to walk away a ladie that was sitting sead why dont you write him a letter. WOW! just before she sead anything, all i thought about was how can i fined this person. I must admit i had negative thoughts at that moment but dean cant say this enough, creative thinking. It wasn't my idea about the letter but she made me realise that, NO MATTER WHAT DONT GIVE UP.

So if he did not pay the taxes how would the assessor contact the owner? Either the owner is not interested if he received your mailings or here's a solution sent the owner a registered letter WITH SIGNATURE RECEIPT. This will be the proof that you will be satisfied knowing the owner did receive notice or anyone who has signed for the letter.
Good for you n.majone!! - its ok that the letter wasn't your idea, what matters is taking action. The County Assessors Office will have contact information regarding payment for taxes. If all you have is an address then write them a letter or send a postcard - you have nothing to lose. Be persistent, see this through and take ACTION! GOOD LUCK!
