Afraid of Making Phone Calls?

I must admit, sometimes I hesitate making phone calls. I'll check e-mail, do research, check ads, drive neighborhoods before I make phone calls. Phone calls are a necessary part of this business, whether I am returning a call or making a new call. So I decided to research some tips and I wanted to share them here.

The biggest thing I see repeated be everyone is preparation:

- practice
- write a small script
- visualize yourself making a successful call

Here are some other tips:

- put a smile on your face
- it's ok to be nervous, most people like that
- take a deep breathe
- if there is no answer, leave a prepared message
- if it is not a good time, it is OK to let the call go to voicemail
- ask how they prefer follow-up
- thank them

Chris, glad to see you're back and updated pic

I agree that ALOT of ppl have difficulty getting out of their "comfort zone" as to makeing and recieving calls.

The BEST solution is to 'role play' with friends/family or other DG members, to get comfortable and use the forms in a conversational manner to gain all the info needed.

I never left, just didn't stop by here as often as I should have!
