Having a good real estate attorney is a must….especially if you live in New York or New Jersey.
Unlike most states, you’ll use an attorney for your real estate transactions. In most states you’d work with a title company for your closing….but in many eastern states the attorney is the go to person.
There are many ways to find a great attorney…word of mouth is one of the best. If you’re working with a good investor friendly REALTOR, then they will be able to refer a couple to you.
I personally found my real estate attorney by attending a real estate investment club.
Attending REIC’s provide great opportunities for many aspects of investing…
You’ll be surrounding by like-minded people, where you can socialize and not only have a chance to find an attorney BUT you can also find motivated investors and sellers!
