Act the part, be the part and live the part!

Act the part, be the part and live the part!

Yesterday, it was time to play Super Bowl 50 in California. I saw they played it in Santa Clara, California home of the San Francisco 49ers. I am not an expert on football but I have to wonder how does a team called the San Francisco 49ers play 45 miles away in Santa Clara. I guess the Santa Clara 49ers does not have the same ring to it. Now, I am only kidding about this. Smiling I have been a cheerleader for more than 10 years for football. I was a Cheerleader for Middle school, high school and college. I love to cheer and football was a fun time in my life.

In such a Big Game there is always a winner and a loser. There is always "the team" and "the individual". There is praise and there can be excuses. I often see this same type of "play" in real estate investing. There are those investors that have a plan and they work the plan, they make adjustments and they improve their game. While there are other investors that sometimes say nothing, point the finger and do not step up when a Big play decision is needed. They might scramble around and waist an opportunity.

In the game of real estate investing are you pushing forward or running back? Are you trying to score a deal or just play it safe with making "safe" offers? Do you want to create an opportunity by turning over every rock to find a deal? Or are you waiting for the deals to come to you? Sometimes I speak with people that say they really want to make real estate work but they do not put in the time and effort. This is about making the commitment to make it work.

I believe people need to really understand some basic rules of the real estate game:

Rule # 1 - Are they a part time or a full time player? - Level of Commitment

Rule # 2 - Are they playing to win? - Amount of Effort

Rule # 3 - Being in the game or watching from the sidelines? - The willingness to take Action!

Rule # 4 - Having the experience and knowledge to know what to do - Education in the subject matter

Rule # 5 - Relying on others to help - Having the Best Power Team

Rule # 6 - Asking for Help when needed - Being a Manager not just a player

Rule # 7 - Getting others to play beyond their abilities - Being a Great leader!

Rule # 8 - Running with an opportunity - Innovator

Rule # 9 - Seeing things and reacting to change - Visionary

Rule # 10 - Playing to Win but also learning from losing - A Real Winner!

These rules can also help us with our real estate investing. You need to dig deep and take an honest look. Our actions determine who we are and how other people may view us. It does not matter if you are in the game of real estate or living your daily life. Do not forget where you came from! Do not forget others that helped you along the way! Act the part, be the part and live the part! Carpe Diem! - Stacey

yes

We either play to win or we dont play.Yes we have rules to play by just like in sports. You cant run a race if you practice 10 minutes a day and expect to be in shape to win.Need to work the plan and at times rework the plan.Nothing in life thats worth while is worked half hearted, Thanks Stacy, much success, Jim
