*need mentor please*

Welcome to the DG family. I know how you feel, I've been stuck many times and it's hard to stay on top of it when life gets in the way. But I always come back to REI because I know it's the ONLY way to become free again. You have to keep the end prize in your focus. Always keep learning, read books, attend meetings, listen to tele-seminars. Surround yourself with like minded people, DG.com is the BEST place for that. I'd be happy to help anyway I can, as many of the wonderful people here would do the same. I joined the site over a year ago because I had been beaten down by life and DG picked me up and has kept doing that for me since. Welcome to the DeanGraziosi family. There's so many things you can do to get started but I will try to keep it simple so you don't get overwhelmed.

First, make sure you read the information in the books a few times and really understand as much of it as possible.

Start with creating a business name or entity (google this), in most states you can do it on your state website for less than 100$. Matter of fact , you can do this without a business name.

By BIRD DOGGING! Find motivated sellers and bring them to investors for a small fee. You can drive around and look for ugly houses.

Get some business cards at Vistaprints.com ($10) and put your name or business name with contact info. Hand them out as often as you can.

Network! Go to real estate investing clubs and talk to investors to learn how they think. Try to get some of them in your buyers list.

Use Craigslist.com . Put some ads there, it is FREE!

There's a lot more but start there. Last, pick up a good motivational book. I recommend "Laws of Success": "17 Principles of Achievement" by Napoelon Hill. You need to believe you can do this and YOU CAN!

thank you sooo much i am goign to look into getting that baook and i have put ads on craigs list i have an ad for real estate agent on craigs list and well no one had replied do you have any ideas about how to get in touch with agents

Just call them through signs you see posted on houses, or look them up online just google real estate agents in your city. It's a crap shoot, you gotta keep trying until you find one that will understand what you're doing. I'm still looking for one... lol. But don't let that stop you, you can do it without an agent too. I did and I loved it! Just make a point of doing something for your rei everyday. Whether it's calling a realtor, talking to banks, placing an ad, or answering one. Do something everyday and you will be one step closer to your goal. Just keep the momentum going!

There's many ways you can get in touch with them. You can send that letter that Matt Larson advises from Dean's book. You can google them and call , ask to speak to an investor friendly agent. Last , you can knock some walls down and go to the company. Always insist in working with an agent who has worked with investors (IMPORTANT). Most agents don't know how we think and work , that's WHY they are agents!

I tried the first two and didn't land my guy until I kicked in the door..lol. As with this business in general, be patient. It took me about 10 agents to get the guy I am working with.
