Are You The Magic?

Are You The Magic?

Nearly 100 percent of the time when I am mentoring someone new in real estate investing they have a very, very skewed vision of what real estate investing really is. Most of the time they think that real estate is the magic key to take them to a place where there financial problems will be gone and their dreams will begin. My most difficult task is trying to convince a newbie (and actually most vetrans) that THEY are the magic. Yes, it is true, that real estate is probably the best vehicle out there, available to everyone, that can get you to financial freedom. I work really, really hard on myself. I READ A LOT OF BOOKS! I like the self help books. I like books that expand my vision. I like books that force me to think through the issues. I like books that once I finish that book, I am now a changed person. Jim Rohn once said "if you work hard at your job you will make a living, but if you work hard on yourself you will make a fortune!" I remember hearing those words and they dropped on me like a ton of bricks. I was changed. My Dad always told me to work harder than anyone else has ever worked no matter who you are working for. But he never told me to work hard on myself. I have read 100 books a year for the last 4 years. The biggest goal I have set for my self in life is to read 10,000 books before I die. Well, 100 books a year won't get me there. 100 books per year is 2 books a week. Well that won't get my goal done. If I'm lucky I will live another 50 years. That means I will have to double the number of books a year to 200. That is 4 books a week. That is a very difficult task. My life isn't efficient enough to get that done. So I have to get better at real estate in order to create more free time and I already have more free time than most people. So I will keep trying to get better. Don't make real estate your lifes goal. Use it as a tool to get to your lifes goal. Yes, real estate is the best vehicle available to reach financial freedom. But, YOU are the fuel that goes into the real estate vehicle. If you do nothing you will be plain old regular gasoline, but if you turn yourself into rocket fuel you will flat out fly to the finish line! Get it done!

Great Post!

I admire the man you are from the man you used to be reading your stories. 2 books a week is actually my goal now. I've learned so far that investing in myself brings forth a greater reward. When I read books that enlarge my mentality...it's like a renewed strength that came out of nowhere. I read one of the books that you suggested on a different post called "How I went from Failure to Success in Selling", that is a great book. I highly recommend it.

Thank you for everything that you do for us newbies and vets.

If you have anymore book recommendations, I'm all hears.

I recommend reading, "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coehlo (Great Read)
