RE Agent Dilemma

RE Agent Dilemma

Looked around but could not find a reference to this question. If I am a licensed RE Agent, can I still do this. Does anyone know if there are legal issues which need to be addressed, do all transactions have to be processed through the Agency, if so, how does an Agent do this "on the side" in order to ultimately be able to work solely for themselves without having to continually give up portions of their commissions, or just getting a "Split of a Split" with percentages then being taken out of THAT?

Check

With your broker. Ask them if he/she is willing to allow you to do your own
on the side, like wholesaling or lease options etc. You have to disclose you are an agent though, as I'm sure you know.

doraly

i'm an agent and i have to share my deals with my broker because he carries the E & O insurance and if i get sued, he gets sued. the only way to do it on your own and not split anything is probably to become a broker yourself. i plan on doing that in 2011.
