I began my real estate journey a year ago. At the time I did not have any capital to speak of and only knew that I did not want to pad my landlords pockets anymore!
When I went in to talk to a reator I was looking to buy a single family home for my fiance and our dog and I to live in. The agent was about to change my life by saying eight words "what do you know about being a landlord." When he asked me this and I was taken back. I said "I know they don't pay rent" we laughed and he helped me to look at money in a whole new way passively.
One month later on May 29 of 2012 I had purchased a Triplex and did'nt pay rent anymore.
I then had a goal. It is to buy 20 properties in ten years. I did'nt know how to do it and still only have the one property but I have been learning ever since. In one year I have read 13 different books on the subject which is a feat since I work upwords of 120 hrs a week!
My fiance and I attended a seminar of Dean's on April third and we were nervous but are very excited to go the workshop(we have not yet attended due to scheduling.)
We are very curious what the workshop will have instore for us. (if anyone would like to share about there experiance we would be thankful)
Well that is basically how my story starts and look forward to writing the rest of it.

Hi Tony
We are new to RE and DG also. We have found so much support and knowledge here its fantastic. We started about a month ago, went to a 3 day event where they walked us thru what following DG can do and we learned a lot of things to put into practice right away. From reading members journals I think any and all work shops are sure to be great. We have just started the Success Academy and our coach and the Dg staff are so helpful and inspiring. DGs weekly blog is always so uplifting and informative too.
You mentioned reading several books, have you read DGs book 30 Days to Real Estate Cash? Its a great blueprint to success.
Welcome to DG and we wish you an awesome real estate journey.
Don
Hope you come back here....would love to hear how the event went!
Buy and hold is an amazing strategy and it's so awesome you are pursuing that route.
Keep us posted on your journey here, and let us know if we can help you take your business to the next level.
Cheers!
Louisa

Hi Don,
I have read “30 Days” I work in Alaska and live in Colorado so I am moving pretty slowly thru the steps. I am making some headway and am staying positive. We have our new phone line and number and tonight I will be writing a script to read on the recording. I am nervous because I usually stumble over my words when I leave messages. I think that I will practice a lot to make it easier.
I cannot say how excited I am to go to the workshop. I am anxious to learn how to use the tools that DG can supply to make our success streamlined.
Tony
Hi Louisa,
I will be sure to let everyone know how the workshop goes. It looks like I will have to wait until June until I can make the schedules align. I am sure that if I already have a head start on investing they won’t be upset when I can make it to the work shop.
Tony
We finally made it to the three day workshop. I could not make it to our local workshop in Colorado because I had to work on those dates. We booked as soon as we could in Atlanta.
What a trip we went early and made a mini vacation of it before the workshop and the “WORK” began. Exploring Atlanta was fun we (my wife Brooklyn and I) did a Segway tour, the zoo and the aquarium.
The best part by far was the training. Deno Fabrizio was a great speaker and his team was very pleasant and helpful.
Day 1 was great to get us thinking about our WHY and our goals again. I consider myself to be like a sponge for knowledge and I was on the edge of my seat.
By Day 2 I knew that I wanted to get more advanced training and was ready to sign up.
On Day 3 we signed the paperwork for more!!!
We will soon be going to the boots on the ground training in North Carolina. So excited to be getting even more help with this.
If there is anyone who would like to help an enthusiastic young couple with finding buyers we will be in need VERY soon!!!
