Hi Everyone!
The purpose of my journal is to keep me on track and stay focused. My Husband and I have been interested in real estate for a long time but never had the funds to invest in the real estate program that we liked or money to buy property.
I never saw Dean in an informatial, I actually read a review about him on a website that tried a bunch of "real estate get rich schemes" and Dean was on the top of his list of successful products. With all of the scams out there, how could I believe this would work versus the other RE info that I've read?
Faith, when it boils down to it.
I bought "Profit from Real Estate Right Now" book and did some more online research about Dean. That's how I found this website. I browsed through the vast information and decided to sign up for this website the same day I ordered my book. I really had nothing to lose since the website was free.
I was overwhelmed with all kinds of information so I read a few pages at a time the last few weeks. The book finally arrived and I've taken my time to read it. I'm almost done and then I'm going to re-read it again and write down my notes. This has always helped me through school. Then I will give it to my Husband and he can read it for himself.
What surprised me was the other incentives that came with the book. A dvd, a booklet, phone # for the success academy. And the book was hard bound, not the cheap soft covers or xerox copied booklets that other people sell.
So far, I've been really impressed with what I've read and researched on this website. I will add my experiences as I go.
Thanks for following me on my journey to a more Abundant Life in Prosperity!

Thank You for the invite Anita!
I chose "Maybe" because I don't know my schedule yet and it's over an hour's drive for me to Palmdale (I live in Thousand Oaks, Ventura County).
I definitely would LOVE to go and meet you and interact with other REI's.
I started a thread for Ventura County Networking Group. You're more than welcome to invite everyone there.

I found this ad under the RE section:
Generally, most of the loans that we process carry a 10% to 14% annual interest rate. Your investment is secured by a Deed of Trust or mortgage and Promissory Note on the property being used as collateral.
All loans carry title insurance and recent appraisals. We handle the complete servicing of each loan.
We base our loans mostly on equity. The worse off the borrowing situation, the more equity we will require.
I sent this person an email and asked for more info. It sounds interesting and maybe it can help me in some way. Still waiting for a reply.
4. Cleaned and organized my office.

1. Read and blogged on DG.com.
2. Created more labels from my town's Chamber of Commerce.
3. Researched my towns school district. I'm borrowing Anita's idea and will contact the elementary principals and ask if I can provide some school supplies in paper bags and hand them out to kids BUT my postcards will be taped on the bag. I talked this over with my Husband and we should give it a shot. I won't start until about August/September when school starts again.
I have to check out the Dollar Stores, Walmart and Target and see if I can get some good deals on school supplies.
We also have contacts with suppliers (from our old business) that we can connect with and see if I can put my postcard design on the paper bags so its saves us money without buying extra post cards and taping it the bag.
4. My Husband and I talked about marketing tactics. We decided to create post cards and mail them out. I have to think of a catchy design and then order them along with my business cards by the end of next week. I will be using Dean's advice for both the business cards and post cards.
5. I was researching Walmart's website and found out that you can advertise for FREE in their classified's section and they also have a RE section as well. Really interesting. I will try marketing on that.
Since I noticed that, I will check out other retail websites and see if they do that too.
6. Added people on my Twitter account.

Dear R.E. Buddha,
I followed a discussion thread and found your posting. I am also working towards all the steps to getting started. I do have one question regarding a comment you made about finding an RE Agent -- Did you post on Zillow? Craigslist? What exactly did you write in your post? I am very curious because I seems as if you have found a good RE Agent so far. I am not at that point quite yet. To be honest I am a little nervous to let them in on the fact that I am new. Do you tell them that you are new to REI? If so, what are their reactions? or do you approach them as if you understand the game well? I would greatly appreciate your input?
I just signed up on Dean's sight, so if you responded I'm not sure if it would show up in my messages. If you wouldn't mind copying your response into my gmail address obinvest@**** as well. Much appreciated. I am inspired by you, and I figure I can model some of the actions you are performing so far. Did you call for a success coach? or are you strictly following the book? I feel this is such a great book that I should be able to follow it and learn possibly through trial and error myself. Thanks in advance for your response.
Regards,
Tim O'Brien

Let me introduce myself. My name is Bob Ross and I am scared to start this business. I know I will be very sucessful but I am so motivated but at the same time very scared.
My areas that I cover are in Santa Barbara County, and San Luis Obispo County, Santa Maria, Orcutt, Guadalupe, Los Alamos, Nipomo, Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Oceano.
I know I need to get a REA but really dont know where to start. At first Because I have no money I need to do some assignments.
With you blogs RE Budda, You are making me more motivated than ever, Although I am still very nervos about starting.
Hey R.E. Budda,
How's it going? Alright, so I just joined the forum and ordered the PFRERN and Real Estate Millionaire books tonight. I've read three of Robert Kiyosaki's books, so I'm pretty green right now when it comes to real estate investing. I wanted to help you tweak a goal which could end up making a big difference in your success.
It was either T. Harv Eker, James Ray, Bill Harris, or Tony Robbins that hammered it in my head: when writing your goals, have your goals directed as much as possible on 'what you want' (what you're moving towards) versus 'what you don't want'. It's cool to have moving-away-from goals, but you want to have at least as many moving-towards goals. This is the reason why-
Your mind is always creating whatever it focuses on, consciously or unconsciously. Having the goal of being 'debt-free' makes your mind think about 'debt' every time you read it or think of it. And what you focus on, you tend to get more of.
James Ray once said to one of his students-, 'debt-free?' I know some homeless people on the beach who are debt-free. They don't have a home, they have no car, they don't have any bills, sometimes they don't even have any food! Is that what you REALLY want?"
He suggested using 'financial independence' or 'financial freedom' as a starting point instead. Having financial independence as a general goal instead will re-focus your mind on what you're probably really after- having a flow of money that continues to grow and grow and grow, along with your net-worth. And as a by-product, the debt-free part will take care of itself.
John
