We all have a story to tell.

I just felt the urge to let my DG family know a little of my story so you don't feel as if your the only one who has gone through tough times. I just want people to know that things happen for a reason and your attitude can certainly determine your altitude.

About 2 1/2 years ago I lost my job and couldn't find work so we got behind on our bills and things were lokking bleak to say the least. My car was repossesed and my home was in preforeclosure. I was on the verge of divorce and everything that could go wrong did go wrong. But then I realized that I was playing the victim role instead of taking charge of my situation. So I made a mental change that I was gonna be a better provider for my family, a better husband and father, and a positive role model for my family.

I then went back to work as an electrician which I told myself I wouldn't do. Had to swallow my pride and go to work. We made arrangements with my mortgage company to make payments to catch up our payments which were three months behind. Add in lawyer and legal fees to do all this, not to mention our mortgage was sold and we had to make a new deal with the new company, new legal fees. So our once 1100 dollar payment became 2100 dollars for the past 2 1/2 years. We are finally making our last payment this month and have some more breathing room.

I could have never done all this if I didn't make a decision to change my situation, to say I will not be a victim, and take charge. Im ecstatic to say that my marriage is better than ever and my life is definitely on the up and up.

And now thanks to dean I will live a life I have only dreamed of. I hope this message hits home to a lot of you that may be struggling, may be wondering if there is a way out, hoping your situatuation will change.

The point here is it all starts with each one of us, to look deep within ourselves and not play the victim, but instead to play the victor.
