Here's a quick update on our journey....I finally found a great agent (on a friends referral) and met with him in person this week! WOW! I was nervous about meeting a "professional" and kept thinking what do I say to him, how do I present myself....I kept reading and hearing...just be yourself and tell the truth....so I did. We ended up just talking about our lives...our dreams....our misconceptions....everything....I gave it all up...we ended up talking for over 2 hours! I found an honest, hard working and most important to me ETHICAL agent....his main concern is the benefits to the people he works with and not the money he makes...he understands that more little deals is much greater then holding out for the one big one. He told me if he can't sleep at night after doing a deal then he knows he didn't do his best and he does whatever he can to make it right! WOW!!! I KNOW I found a great agent to work with...he's been in the business since 1992...his Dad is a broker and been in re since 1972...has contacts for hard $ lenders....creative financing and is an expert in short sales which are growing like weeds here in CA..works with investors and is open to multiple weekly offers...presenting low offers and knows a few banks that are willing to work with assingments!! WOW...all that from one contact....one referral. This was not the first one I spoke with....BUT he was the first one that I told the truth to and explained our entire situation...so just be yourself and tell the truth....it really works better...just like everyone keeps saying. Just try it...it can't hurt and you'll feel better too! You will find the perfect agent once you do that and then you're off and running!!!!! Good luck everyone...I'll keep you posted on what's going on...we're busy working on a few deals already...just 24 hours after our meeting!!!!!
Oh...one last helpful hint....I found meeting in person what a huge BENEFIT to me...as nervous as I was about it...it was much better then the phone...we talked on the phone 1st and I got a pretty good feel for him but in person locked it in for me. The other agents I met with I just didn't get that "happy" feeling...it was fake...scripted to what I would want to hear....hope that helps as well.

I really like that, I have never got into telling the truth. And also that does let someone know were I stand, GOOD LUCK

As being a RE agent I can relate. Especially knowing some of the people in this bussiness. From an agents approach I do apprecite your honesty. It will get you much farther than a front! I am so happy to hear that you found an ethical agent, that is willing to help you through the whole process! If he is indeed a winner stick with him as he can provide more information and insight than you can imagine.
Keep us posted on your results

Congratulations! I'm jelous of you. I hope to find an agent like that too. I bought my home from an agent like that in 1985. He had us buy from the existing, original owners and rent it back to them while their new house was being built for them. He had sold the home to them brand new and knew that they were building, so he got us in before it even went on the market! We had no compitition! I have been trying to get in touch with him numerous times with no success. Bummer. Anyway, good luck with everything. It sounds like you're in very good hands. Keep us posted....Johnnym66
