OfflineHello everyone, I am 21 and live in CA, I am now jumping off the deep end and ready to start my career in Real Estate. My questions are:
1)What is the easiest and most inexpensive way to get a DBA name registered?
2)Is it absolutely necessary to get a business name before starting any deals?

We had brought & sold dozens of properties in our personal names for years since we had cash and/or excellent credit. We did form a S Corp because of the volume, but were using it primarly for only vacant land purchases/sales
because when we bought a house in the Corporate Name, the homeowners insurance
was much, much higher.(maybe because of Florida). So it is not nessary, but some form Corps just for libility protection. My advice is make some money 1st, then worry about forming a business, less paperwork & expenses(CPA's, Lawyers, Payroll, Separate Tax Returns, etc.)
I do not live any where close to CA (ME att). I do have a personal Real
Estate attorney. I suggest (I am not an expert) that you find a Real Estate Attorney and have a nice conversation about this subject. Mine answered a lot of questions and offered a lot of suggestions and options. Laws & rules are different in many places, including towns, not just states. This is only my suggestion.
