Need to find a free local listing of Pre-Foreclosures

Hi everyone,

I was hoping someone can tell me where I was able to find a free local listing of pre-foreclosures.

I'm new and a bit lost on trying to get a contract. I have posted ads on craigslist but no luck.

help!

Go to the county website and look up department of the trustee they handle foreclosures (they are unlikely to know what a pre foreclosure is as that is an real estate term. It just means the home is in the process before the auction date) You can call the trustee office and find out the process. In my county the home is listed in the paper for 5 weeks I think all towns list in paper as they are require to give public notice, but the website has the info first as it is recorded in the trustee office first and they publish it. My town publishes a list for each year and the next sale. If there is not a website go to the court house and ask how you can tell when a home will go to auction. You can then market to them. I suggest looking on this site as people in foreclosure are defensive, sometimes in an apathetic place.
Good luck
Theresa
