What to put on Business Cards?

What to put on Business Cards?

Hey everyone,

I am training to be a wholesaler (bird dog) and I'm wondering what I should put on my business cards to give to buyers. It would have my name and then either my business name or title on the next line. I'm just not sure what my title should be, or if it should say something like "I'll Find You Deals"? Haha. What do all of you wholesalers put on your business cards? Thanks!

Nicole

Hi Nicole,

It depends on who you're planning to give them to. Then have it match your overall business image around what you do.

Also, just curious are you intending to be a wholesaler or a birddog? But I realize you're still training. Since they are different, that needs to be clear for you or you'll always have to change business cards. Nice and simple with a good message about what you or your company does is best.
PM for questions if you have any.

Cheers!

I actually looked at your post very quickly when I posted before and just saw the BD plan. The wholesaler part went right by me until Anita brought it up. She is absolutely correct. They are different things.

I have changed my cards a number of times. The present one I am using has my title a Property Specialist because I do a number of things.

Business Cards

Hi Nicole,

I would highly suggest that you tailor your cards to your target audience. They have to be effective. Since during the course of your investing career and ventures, you will most likely come across many sellers or prospective sellers, it would be prudent to have a general business card that tells the person what you do. A general all purpose simple business card could have a title in bold letters at the top like "We Buy Houses & Multi-Units, Any Area & Any Condition" with your name and company name and title, and phone number and website/email below it. On the back of the card or on the bottom of the card you could mention something like "Attention Investors - I'll find you deals" or "I'll give you $1000 - Just ask me how" to attract more bird dogs to find you deals for the referral fee. You can also include a short quote or testimonial with the person's initials or add a simple logo to make it more effective. These are just simple suggestions and I would encourage you to consider doing some research for designs and patterns for the best one that would be the best fit for you. Good luck!

Cards specifically for buyers

I guess I thought they were the same thing... I am learning to find properties, close on the deals, and then pass them on to cash buyers, aka assignment of contracts. I guess that is bird dogging? Right now I need to start finding buyers, so I just need to get cards to give specifically to investors. Then I guess I'll need to get some to give to sellers.

Finding Buyers

Hi Nicole,

To find investors and buyers in your area, you may want to consider calling on the "We Buy Houses" ads and signs in your area. You will find them online or in the classifieds section of the paper or the local trade or weekly penny saver type publication. Keep your eyes open for bandit signs/magnets on vehicles when you drive through town and yard signs posted in your neighborhood. When you call on them, ask the investors/buyers what are they looking for and what type of investing interests them and are they open to partnerships or joint ventures with you and other investors. You may also want to ask if they're interested in any properties that you may have that you want to pass on to them. Another way to find buyers is to run a dummy ad online through websites like Craigslist - "3/1 Investor's Special, $85k cash quick close." You will get some buyer leads running an ad like this. When people call or respond, you can ask what buying criteria they are looking for and build your network of buyers. You can also contact a few mortgage brokers in your area - tell them you're interested in finding a good lender working with them to finance your deals. They will shop hundreds of lenders and they frequently have access to buyers, investors, private and hard money people etc. I hope this is helpful.
