I am really struggling finding that first deal. I live in ct and it seems like there is tons of competition out there. I was all set up to go see these 2 houses and when I was on my way I got a call from the owners and they said they already found someone.
I am thinking I really need to find a REA Fast.
Does anyone else beleive that an agent is a good way to go? I still wont give up on finding deals myself but I am getting a little worried about doing the first one. I cant wait to get it over with so I can just get all the jitters out.
Any suggestions would be great...Thanks in advance..

Hi Bill; I live in CT also where are you located? and yes a RE agent is the way to go, you need to find a good one!
What doesn't kill me,,makes me stronger!
Andre could be right, but, my partner Jeremy and I just closed on a deal without one. they can help and they can also be a pain in the butt. they don't think like we do, unless you find a realtor who invests also. jeremy and I worked about 4 or 5 deals with a realtor before we landed our 4 family and there was always conflict with them. Like I said, they do not think the way we do. Craigslist is the preffered site for investors.
You should get involved in a REI club with active investors. I did and let me tell you it is worth every minute of the meetings. The networking is great and the advise is for free.
Your jitters will always be there when doing a deal. It's a good thing to keep you sharp and alert. These are only tips to get you started. Best of luck and if you have any other questions, send me a pm and I will do what I can for you.
Oh yeah, I used to live in Wallingford for 10 years, so i know what the market is like......Jan
