3 legged stool

Why that subject, well hard to sit on a 1 or 2 legged stool and a 4 legged may have one leg shorter and the stool would rock...
Really what I wanted to say was now that 2013 is fresh and many folks want to start something BIG, get a plan together that will get you to your goals. I found three things, reason I started with the stool story, I wanted to focus on and can adjust between them to get the right balance for my RE business...tax liens, rentals, and handyman business. Each feeds off the other and it varies which does better each year. Started small with each and now all are growing strong! Tax liens are great return and huge potential, but must have cash up front to get returns I was after, getting there quickly though and for only a few days of work per year! Rentals can be a headache, but where else can you have someone buy a property for you in about 4-8 years if done right? Handyman business, started with some skills, but have learned so much and can use on my rentals as needed. After 6 years, the plan has come together and last year I tripled the number of rentals, went up 12 fold in income on tax liens, and have added to the handyman business. Mostly do everything myself, but rely on assistance from family when needed. Biggest key, find something you would love to do and become the expert, then help other succeed and watch it take off!
