There is a Tax Sale auction at my hometown next month.
Just curious, how is the auction? I get a picture in my head of there being a lot of people with those numbered flags bidding on the tax liens or the properties.
Do i have to have to pay anything to enter in the auction? I'm doubt i'll bid for anything as i don't have much money but i'm interested in just being there and seeing how everything goes down.
Anyone have an idea? Or is it different in other states? (im from NJ)

I was kinda getting worried no one had responded to my question for a while.

The owner is delinquent in taxes, what is the length off time before the owner can lose the property. If an owner's property is lost through tax sales, what happens to the mortgage, relative to the owner.

Hello Sandra, Each state has its own redemption periods. They range from as little as ninety days to three years. The mortgage situation is also a state by state thing. Some states make the tax sale/lien superior and give the ownership to the tax lien buyer free and clear of any mortgage. The mortgage holder usually has the right to bring the delinquent taxes current to protect their position, just like the owner.

How can I get real estate for only 2k?
The way to do anything in life is too honor yourself! With that said,Buy property at 2k?...I know what works for me so i will always think of myself altough when i turn that coin,Maybe something that works for somebody else i really did not realize. My point is the area in which you buy or buy into,You could say..That is not for me, But it may be for somebody else!Focus on out of the area property and i say that because of the people boom that is happening. The chances are greater for you to control the bidding process in a out-of-town setting. How would you say it...Diamond in the ruff!

acquiring it at that price. Most times the owner has already come up with the money to pay past due taxes before the property ever reaches the court house steps or sheriff sale (depending on how they operate tax deed sales in your state or others). Now I'm not saying that it don't ever happen but be aware of primary lein holder will get the property first (by paying the taxes) if property worth something to them to carry it.
