Locating Owners of Vacant Properties

Locating Owners of Vacant Properties

I have been using a great website in order to get the address of the Owner / Potential Owner of vacant properties. I know everybody know of vacant properties in their neighborhoods, and surrounding areas. Now the question is this,,,,, How do I find out the owners name and potential address?
Three different things you can do to find this information out.
- First... Go to your county courthouse and do the search at the courthouse itself. Have someone at the Tax Assessors office show you how to pull this information from the Public Records.
- Second... Go to your counties website (if they have one) and you can pull the information off that site.
- Third... Go to www.netronline.com and search search the "Public Records" part of their website and you can access most of the countries many county records.

Here is the key,,,, When you are talking to anyone at the county courthouse, you simply say to them "I am looking to find out where the TAX BILL is being sent to for the address of the vacant property. It is all public record so legal for you to search for, and also legal for them to share with you.

I use this tool all the time and get great results from it.

Hope this helps.

Happy Investing!

Good advice Matt

I use the netronline all the time to locate the owners of vacant properties.
Its great when the property address is differant then the mailing address of the owner then we can send out letters to them,Ive got 3 call backs from them.
My question is what do you do if the addresses are the same and the house is vacant.

Thanks DGers

What I would do is send a letter to the house address. Chances are that they are having the mail forwarded to another address. You can put "address correction requested" on the envelope and see if it gets returned with a new address. (although I'm not sure if the PO will do that anymore.)
If you get no response from that, you can try to do some background searches for the owner's next of kin and contact them. Try Zabasearch.com for this.
Lastly (or firstly depending on how forward you want to be)you can go to the neighbors and ask if they know how to get in touch with the owners.

Hope this helps...

What script do you use once you get their number?

Once you get a response, what script do you use once you call them to purchase the home?
