Hey Chris,
I actually found my attorney, who is also a CPA, at a local REIC (real estate investment company). In other states I’ve found them through my Investor Friendly REALTOR.
Is there a reason that you’re only looking for an attorney for assignments?
There are definitely many benefits for having an attorney when you’re doing real estate deals, however it shouldn’t be holding you back on. There are plenty of title companies in the area that will do assignments of contract with you.
I’d continue to look for referrals from other friends of yours that are investors, your REALTOR, your contractor ... any member of your Power Team. I would also do an online search for real estate attorneys in your area that do assignments. I go to whitepages.com and make some calls ... I did a quick search & found 83 real estate attorneys in your area.
Keep pushing forward & you WILL find the right attorney, but don’t let that stop you from doing an deals in the meantime!
