I found a couple of vacant properties but I am having difficulty finding information on the properties. Is there a sight that I can go to or where
should I start? Owners name,comps, etc.

Go to your County office(s); property assessor & tax collector's offices to get the Owner's name and comps of latest sold properties. You can check out zillow, trulia and even Dean's new site he mention in this week's emailing.

Atlcamel gave you some great advice. You can often contact the county offices via phone, in person or maybe even find the information on the web. You can also try to send a letter ot the owner about the property. Usually the treasurer would have the most recent mailing address for the property owner because they want to collect property taxes.
