Analysis Mistakes

I searched for my address in totalviewrealestate, zillow and another site. I found that the information is incorrect. It showed 3 bedrooms instead of the original 5 (there were never any additions added, all bedrooms were there when it was originally built - I bought from the owner/builder) and the square footage is way off by 1,000 feet, which changes the value of the home. How do I have this corrected? I looked on the web site itself with no luck and I checked my county records to see if it was correct. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Chrissmith63 you might try

Chrissmith63 you might try going here in zillow to revise your own property info. http://www.zillow.com/wikipages/Claim-Your-Home/ One word of caution if you go to the county to get this revised.....they might change your tax rate not in your favor to meet the new larger guidelines. I jsut wanted you to be aware of this possbile result of your request for modification at least at your county level.

Most counties will base their tax rates on square feet and useable space and apply a tax rate to that....in some cases it being smaller on county records might be an advanatage from a tax perspective.

Most sources such as zillow, etc will get their information from public records and thus the values you see.

More bad news

If there are no permits, and you buy it anyway. You will be responsible when you sell it. Also in Ca. a realtor can be held liable for 7 years.
