Your credit card # is never exposed. It is converted to a one way encrypted hash to the system, and compared to the hash on the server. The protocol when it is transmitted prior to reception is 256 bit encryption, so no worries.

Credit card # is required for validation to prevent someone intentionally or unintentionally leaking access to people who are not licensed to view it.

There is nothing to be concerned about. Alternatively, you can use strictly the DVDs. Thanks!
