TMI?
I am 41, married, own one home, well technically the bank owns it still! I have two young boys and an awesome wife. I grew up in California then moved to the east coast in my mid-twenties to pursue a career in the fire service. I thought I had it figured out. I was a career firefighter/paramedic and my wife was going to school to become a dentist.
In my mind, I pictured us living in the lap of luxury once she graduated. Unfortunately, for many reasons, the good life has eluded us up to this point. I miss being the provider and my wife hates working. Due to the low quality/high cost of childcare, and the fact that firefighters don't make much money here in central Virginia, I elected to quit the fire service to stay home with our two boys while my wife worked. I have enjoyed the time I have to spend with my guys, but it has been very difficult to send my wife off to work every day when I know deep down she really just wants to be a mommy.
Also, we have decided to relocate to Southern Florida. We both miss the warm weather and the "salt life". What the heck!
So, here is my immediate goals if you are interested,
- Finish Dean's books and start learning about real estate investing now
- Secure a position as a firefighter/paramedic in southern Florida ASAP
- Purchase a primary home in Florida using Dean's techniques
- Start a career in real estate investing to support my family without the need to send my wife off to work
. With Dean's help and the support of my family, friends, and peers, I know I can do it!
